PRESIDENTS DAY

Is it just me? Seems like this day just reminds people it's a big "sale" weekend at the stores. We really don't seem to honor past U.S. presidents much less our current one! At least when we used to celebrate Washington or Lincoln's birthday we had cherry pie. Regardless of your political pursuasion, we should take a few moments every day to pray for God's care and guidance to the leader of the free world. Then go shopping.

Valentine's Day to myself

Ok, so it's not only Valentine's day but the last day of my 4 day vacation. As a valentine to myself, I painted the kitchen, dining room and living room of my home for vacation (it's been 10 years since I painted!). I know, that's a little sick way to spend time off from work-be assured I WILL BE EATING CHOCOLATE TONITE.

The old color on the left was terra cotta (translation-dirt). The new color is "icy teal" from Glidden. The tranformation to this half of the house is amazing. Do you ever just sit and look at something beautiful you created? I'm in awe of myself at this old age!

Sorry the first picture is so dark-I forgot to adjust the brightness. But, it really gives you the look I was feeling about these rooms. hee hee.

I just can't get over how cheery (?) the rooms feel now. .... Hope ya'll blessed yourself with some beauty for this loving day.
